SeeClip 1 - November 16, 2005

Hey everyone! We’re starting a new series of video clips called SeeClips. These are usually less than a half hour long and every one higlights a different product or technology. Unfortunately the cllips are far too large when encoded in iPod format but they can easily be converted. We hope you enjoy this new type of content. On today’s SeeClip we’re talking about iPodLinux, the version of Linux for your iPod. Since we had to record it with my digital camera the quality isn’t what we’d like it to be but you can still understand what we’re talking about. You can find today’s SeeClip here and its links here. Look for more SeeClips soon, hopefully with better quality!

I really enjoyed the tutuorials and overall the quality was not so bad, my digi cam sucks. Great job guys.

Guys, great work! It’s great to see what you guys look like. ERIC NEEDS to talk more! Maybe in future vids you insert screen caps via iMovie so we can see whats on the screen. Just a tought, otherwise great vid. Keep it up. Are you guys taking sponsors??

Sandra: I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m sorry I sort of took over but I know way more about iPodLinux than Erik. We will gladly take sponsors.

Great work!
I installed a version of iPodLinux on my 4G 60G color iPod a few months ago. It mostly works, but the video is messed up with games & movie player - sort of like what you’d see if rowBytes is wrong in a bitmap. I’ll have to try one of the newer nightly builds. It also has a very serious problem with freezing when you go to music if any podcasts are present - has that been fixed?
