Help Me Get A Free iPod

February 1, 2006

Hey everyone, it’s Brandon. I’m trying to get a free iPod from FreePay.com and you can help me while working towards your own free iPod in the process. I know it sounds like a gimmick, but it’s not! It’s been featured on a bunch of news shows including CNN, Fox, Wired, and several NBC channels (there are links from FreePay.com) who have confirmed it’s legit. All you have to do to get your own free iPod and help me get mine is go to http://ipods.freepay.com/?r=27239100 (please use this link as it will count as a refferal for me), sign up for a new account, and complete one of their offers (most of which cost very little and are from trustworthy companies). Thanks! -Brandon

Switching Hosts, AGAIN!

January 25, 2006

Getting tired of waiting for our site to load? So are we! That’s why we’ve decided to switch hosts once again. This time we were tired of all the little Blogger-like services that we’ve been using and have decided to switch to a real host called XmgFree (www.xmgfree.com). We think the switch will improve speed on both our site and our forum. It will also get rid of all the pesky ads, yay! So, although you may not even be able to tell, you may be reading this from our new host! By the way, we have a podcast as well as a SeeClip in production. Talk to ya’ll soon :) -Brandon

Listener Survey (Again)

January 13, 2006

As some of you know we have a listener survey going, and we have forgotten to talk about it on our most recent podcasts. We have only had 11 people take the survey, and we need a lot more to finish it up and get a sponsor. So please, as soon as you see this post, click on the “Listener Survey” button in the sidebar, and take the survey. -Erik

Keynote Sum-Up

January 10, 2006

As you probably know, Steve Jobs’ keynote at Macworld San Francisco just ended, and as you would expect there is plenty to talk about. First of all iLife ‘06 will, as rumored, include a 6th app for web publishing, blogging, etc. called iWeb. iLife ‘06 also included new versions of iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand all of which are designed for casting of some type (photocasting, videocasting and podcasting). But I won’t torture you any longer; yes there were Intel Mac announcements. The first was an Intel revision to the iMac which is 2-3x faster than the old ones. The second Intel release was a PowerBook replacement known as the MacBook Pro. It runs at 4-5x the speed of the old PowerBooks. The only thing about these MacBooks that I don’t like is that the only available screen size is 15.4″. Go check out www.apple.com for all the info.

Listener Survey

December 23, 2005

Mr. Mac Geek is applying for sponsorship! We will talk more about it on the next podcast, but as part of our application, we need to have a minimum number of people take a listener survey. Please take just a couple of minutes to answer a few questions about us, because if we get this sponsorship, we can do much much more than what we’re doing now. Thanks for listening, Erik.

Switched Blog Hosts Again

November 11, 2005

We’ve switched blog hosts again as Libsyn was overloaded. We are now using Blogsome which is based on Wordpress. Sorry for the inconvenience of not having our old posts but you can still find them at mrmacgeek.libsyn.com. We hope you enjoy our new blog.
